Keeaumoku Towers will be one of the largest projects in the Midtown Ala Moana neighborhood. The project will be built on twelve existing parcels and will encompass 3.53 acres (153,884 sq ft). The Keeaumoku Towers project will border along Keeaumoku Street, Liona Street, and Rycroft Street. It will be right across the street from the HMSA building and diagonal from Walmart and Sams Club (on the ewa/west side of the building). It will also be just a short distance to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and Ward Village in Kakaako.
The building is one of several new construction projects coming to the Midtown Ala Moana neighborhood. Within the last few years, we have seen 5 other new highrises slated for the neighborhood (Azure Ala Moana, Sky Ala Moana, and The Central Ala Moana which are currently under construction). This influx of highrises will help transform the neighborhood and bring a variety of restaurants, cafes, and other commercial retail to the neighborhood. Keeaumoku towers will replace a few local eateries such as Asahi Grill, Sorabol, and Yogurstory, but we hope to see them reopen in new commercial spaces around the neighborhood.
Based on initial application to the Department of Planning and Permitting, Keeaumoku Towers appears to follow in the footsteps of other recent new construction projects by incorporating a commercial retail component on the lower levels of the building. There will be a 26,000 sq ft park on the corner of Keeaumoku and Rycroft Street and a shared amenity deck on top of the parking structure. The exact amenities have not yet announced, but it appears that there will be a swimming pool, recreation area, and playground/tot lot. The building will also feature car-sharing spaces and bike-share stations. Stay tuned for more updates!
