Waiea at Ward Village

Waiea is Howard Hughes' first tower in Ward Village Kakaako - a 60-acre master planned community located in the urban core of Honolulu. This ultra-luxury building was designed by award-winning Vancouver based architect James Cheng in collaboration with Rob Iopa and WCIT Architecture. This is currently the pinnacle of high-end living at Ward Village. The tower was completed in 2016 and initially had pre-sales back in 2013. What makes Waiea unique is its wavy glass window facade that gives the building a distinct curve/wave pattern. Waiea is the Hawaiian term for "water of life" and is reflected in the water-inspired glass facade and is meant to symbolize the importance of water in Hawaii's coastal landscape. Waiea's interior was designed by Ingrao Interiors. Waiea's ground floor porte cochere also showcases Tony Cragg's bronz Versus statue. The ground floor floor retail is currently occupied by award winning restaurant Nobu Honolulu.

Residence Features

The residences in Waiea will typically have 9'6'' ceiling heights and 10'6'' in the Villas and Penthouses. The building is a LEED certified building and features double glazed glass, central AC, LED lighting, and on-site security. Inside these luxury units you can find hardwood and stone flooring. The bathrooms have free standing tubs, onyx walls, toto washlets, and rain showers. In the kitchen there will be polished-quartz counter tops, European cabinetry, Miele kitchen appliances, Dornbracht plumbing fixtures, wine refrigerators, and motorized window shades.

Waiea will have a total of 12 penthouses which will have extra high ceilings and some even have separate elevators only used for the Penthouses. Depending on the penthouse, owners can expect to have higher end finishes. Waiea will have a 7th floor amenity deck.
