Ililani is Kakaako's newest high rise condominium coming to Kakaako located at 615 Keawe Street. Ililani will be a 42 story 400 foot tall highrise that will feature a mix of affordable housing and market units. Just about half of the building will go towards affordable housing. It will be located in between Keauhou Place and Keola Lai near SALT and Mother Waldron Park in Kakaako. The building is designed by Kenneth Kai Chang and developed by Kam Development LLC. The building will feature a wide array of amenities and will have commercial retail on the ground floor. Ililani in Hawaiian means "Heavenly piece of land." Ililani will feature a wide variety of amenities. The building will have some unique features like their community garden, citrus grove, and relaxation areas. There will also be an e-lounge/shared work area with high speed internet and tv screens that residents may use. In addition, the building with have a 10 car electric vehicle ride share fleet that only the residents may use and there will be an app that they can use to reserve a car. There will also be a 3 car HUI ride share program downstairs that residents or the neighborhood may use. The building's ride share fleet will be cheaper than the HUI ride share program.
Ililani's main tower floor plate will be from floors 16-42. The lower floor plans vary as the lower level Diamond Head/East side connects to the parking structure. The Unit Floor Plans will have a Letter and sometimes followed by an "L" or "U" which means lower or upper. You will see that they vary slightly. The floor plate shown below shows the typical upper floor plate minus the U and L just so you can see where the units are positioned and so you can know each unit variation goes.
The affordable housing units at Ililani will have 2 main requirements. One will be that the applicant(s) need to be under the 140% Area Median Income shown on the table below and will be based on household size. HHFDC (Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation) will then determine if you are qualified. You will also have to meet the following requirements:
