Hokua is a luxury condominium situated directly in front of the ocean on Ala Moana Blvd. It is also situated next to Nauru Tower and is across the street from the Ward Village Showroom (the old IBM building). The 39-story building was built in 2006 and is comprised of 253 residential units. The building was developed by The Kobayashi Group. The building consists of 2 and 3 bedroom floor plans as well as Penthouse units. The typical floor plate has 7 units per floor and this floor plate goes up to the 35th floor. From floors 36 and up, the floor plate changes as some units combine. Then the very top floor Penthouses change yet again as there are only 3 two-story Penthouses that have very large lanais on the roof top. The unit break down by interior living area is:
- 2 Bed 2 Bath Units: 1,555 - 2,019 sq. ft.
- 3 Bed 2.5 Bath Units: 2,278 - 3,094 sq. ft.
- Penthouses: 2 story units over 4,000 sq. ft. (3 total)
The building's location is very conveniently located as it is in between Ward Village and Ala Moana Shopping Center. Some notable features is that the building has 24/7 security, one of the best on site condo concierge, and it is pet friendly which allows 2 pets up to 35 lbs. The only drawback is that there are 1-bedroom units and the lanais/balconies are on the smaller size (unless you are on the very top floor). Overall, Hokua is a great luxury condominium that far exceeded the expectations of most realtors back in the early 2000s and to this day, it is still known as one of the best condos Honolulu.

Hokua has a variety of resort-like amenities that you would find in a typical luxury condominium. The ground floor has the lobby along with the mail area and front desk security/concierge. Outside on the first floor is the ground floor commercial retail. Currently there is Bank of Hawaii, two restaurants: Panya and Tango, and a salon. On the Terrace level of Hokua you will find the amenity deck that comprises of an outdoor and inside area. Outside there is a tennis court, dog run, outdoor BBQ cabana area, playground, hot tub, and swimming pool area. Inside you will find five guest suites, a library, private dining/party area, and fitness center which is separated into two areas (the cardio area and the free weight area). Inside the fitness area is also a yoga section, locker room, and sauna area. The guest suites vary in size ranging from 400 to 860 sq. ft. and can be reserved by residents and are perfect for when you have out of town guests over and you don't want them to stay within your unit.
