The building was built in 1976 by Dynamic Industries Corp (Contractor) and designed by Milton Sher & Associates (Architect). The entire complex is comprised of 1-bedroom units with three different floor plan variations. Each floor has 8 units per floor (except the top floor) and all units have a lanai that faces the east/Diamond Head view plane. The exact unit size break down is:

Overall, Summer Palace is a great building in an excellent location. It is close to the Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ala Moana Beach Park, and is close to the entrance of Waikiki. The building features two amenity decks (3rd floor and rooftop) with a pool, bbq grill, library, steam room, putting green, and cabanas. The building also has a secured entry, covered secured parking, and car wash area. This is also one of the few buildings that was built in the mid 70's to include 14 guest parking stalls. The maintenance fee includes: Electricity, Sewer, Water, Hot Water, and the common area expenses.
