The building is on the Ala Wai Canal and right in between the Yacht Harbor Towers and Commodore Waikiki. The building was built in 1959 and was comprised mainly of 2 bed 1 bath units and a single 3 bed 2 bath unit. Since then, there were a lot of owners who converted their 2 bed 1 bath unit into a large 1 bed 1 bath unit. Most of the units also have enclosed lanais. The unit breakdown is:

Atkinson Towers is in a very convenient location right between Ala Moana and Waikiki. The building does not have any amenities, although they use to have a swimming pool but had to fill it in order to make additional parking stalls for the building since Atkinson Towers lost the adjacent lot which they had part of their parking on. Now owners must pay $325 a month for parking and parking is secured through a lease with the building for a 50 year period. The building does have storage lockers and a resident manager.
Overall, Atkinson Towers' location is ideal and centrally located. However, it becomes a bit costly should you have a vehicle and need a parking stall. In the event an owner doesn't need a parking stall, they do not need to pay the $325 a month fee, which makes it ideal for those who do not drive.
