Hawaiian Monarch is located in the heart of Waikiki and situated along the Ala Wai Canal. It is closer to the West end of Waikiki closer to the Ala Moana and McCully neighborhoods. The building was designed by Rognstad Jo Paul and the contractor was Swinerton & Walberg Co. The tower was completed in the second quarter of 1979.

Hawaiian Monarch is a very popular vacation rental building and allows short term rentals. The units at Hawaiian Monarch do not come with any deeded parking, but there are 183 parking stalls that can be rented long term or on a daily basis. On the ground floor of the building you will find various shops, stores, and restaurants. The most popular store within Hawaiian Monarch is Cream Pot which is a very popular breakfast/brunch restaurant.

Unit Breakdown:

Hawaiian Monarch has a total of 144 units. There are studio units, 1, and 2-bedroom units, and 4 Penthouses. Hawaiian Monarch mainly has studios, but on the higher floors there are larger units with a foyer lockout area that allows owners to have two separate rentals.

Hawaiian Monarch Floor Plate and Unit Features

Hawaiian Monarch has two sets of elevator banks. 3 Elevators go up to the 25th floor and the other 3 go to floors 26 and above. The typical floor plate consists of 16 studio units. From floors 26 and above there are 8 units per floor which are all 1-2 bedroom units that can be used as two separate rental units, or you can live in one and rent the other, or live in both. On the 6th floor of Hawaiian Monarch you will find the amenity deck, here you will find a large swimming pool, two hot tubs, Cabana and covered seating areas, BBQ grills and an Ice Machine.
